Frequently Asked Questions

If your question isn’t listed here, head on over to our contact us and let us know.

What if the motorhome breaks down?

You will need to contact us as soon as possible. If the repair is minor, under $100, then have it repaired and we will reimburse you. If the repair requires more than that we need to issue authorization before repair is made.

What if I am late in returning the vehicle?

The vehicle is overdue after 11:00 a.m. on the date of return. A fee of $25 per hour will be charged for each hour you are late. If not returned by office closing time you will be subject to another days rental charges. Please notify the rental center if you will be late in returning. We can make arrangements for late returns subject to availability.

What kind of facilities might a campground offer?

A partial list of commonly found facilities would include: electric, water, sewer hook-ups, washer, dryer, swimming pool, playground, BBQ pits, on-site convenience store.

Can I tow my car or boat behind the motorhome?

We do allow towing with some of our motor homes. The motor homes are only equipped with a receiver hitch, so you would need to provide your own tow ball. We allow a maximum tongue weight of 200 lbs, and a maximum gross weight of 2500 lbs.

How do I pay for the rental?

We accept all major credit cards and cash for payment or deposits.

Can we travel into Canada or Mexico?

No, we do not allow our vehicles to leave the United States.

Can I park my car at your rental center while we travel?

We have parking available and in most cases we can park one car for one motor home in our storage facility. We assume no responsibility for any and all damage to your vehicle while parked.

Is there a limit to how many people can ride in the motorhome?

There is no legal limit and there is no seat law governing the use of seat belts in any part of the coach beside the front seats, which requires belts. All motor homes come with seat belts on the dinette and the couch. If so equipped, we recommend they be used. We also recommend the following:

  1. Never exceed the maximum capacity as posted in each individual vehicle. Minimum capacity includes the vehicle, all fluids, all occupants, and gear.
  2. All passengers should use the provided seat belts. The total number of seat belts will vary according to each vehicle and its floor plan.
  3. Child safety seats should be used where applicable. The installation and use of these seats should follow the recommendation of the child seat manufacturer.
  4. Overhead areas designed only for sleeping should not be occupied while the vehicle is in motion.
  5. The vehicle should be properly secured prior to travel. This includes locking the doors and dead-bolting them where applicable. Stow the entry step and secure the outside compartments.
  6. We expect that you will use good judgment and prudence in your decisions.

Can you smoke in the motorhomes?

NEVER. There is a strict “no smoking policy” in all our motor homes. Detection of smoking will result in the complete forfeiture of your rental deposit and may incur odor removal charges.

Pets are only welcome in some units, with an additional rental and security deposit fee.

Are there roll-out awnings on the motorhome?

All our units have them. Many units have automatic awnings and controls. A reminder; these systems are very expensive and you are responsible for any damage, typically no less than $3,000. They are very sensitive to wind, so please take precautions and do not leave unattended or up during periods of moderate wind.

Does the motor home come with a TV, VCR or stereo?

Most units come with entertainment systems. Most come with TV, VCR and/or DVD player and some come with In Motion Satellite TV. There is no guarentee that the satellite system will work at all locations.

Besides the rental cost are there any other charges I will incur?

You will also be asked to pay fuel and cleaning fees at the end of the rental, if not completed prior to the return of the vehicle. Fuel tanks, both gas and propane, must be returned full. Our charge to fill tanks is $25 each, plus fuel charges. Unit must be returned with the interior cleaned. If not, the cleaning fee will be determined by the degree of refurbishing needed.

Are motor homes difficult to operate?

No. At departure you will receive a 30-60 minute familiarization tour and learn how to hook up, operate appliances, and the equipment on the RV. We also show you how to plug in to a power source, hook up your dump tanks, and everything else associated with operating an RV.

Is it difficult to drive a motorhome?

Motor homes handle much like a car, especially the “C” class which has a van chassis. Mileage depends on the size of the motor home and the driving conditions. Generally, you will get between 8 and 11 miles per gallon.

Is there a charge for the generator?

You receive 3 hours per day generator usage included in the rental rate. So if you rent for 5 days, you have 15 generator hours included in the rental for free. If you go over that, it is a flat $5/Hr. You can save on this expense by staying in locations that have electrical hookups and not leaving the generator running when you are not in the vehicle.

Maintenance and Breakdown Responsibility

The customer is responsible for checking engine oil, fluids, and coolant levels at each refueling, as well as reporting mechanical failures immediately. Instructions and procedures for maintenance expense reimbursement are provided at rental. Customers may be held responsible for mechanical damage due to negligence in vehicle operation or failure to provide normal maintenance. In the event the vehicle is in breakdown repair for 12 hours or more, through no fault of the customer, our responsibility to customer is limited to refund of daily rate or portion thereof. Radio, air conditioning, refrigerator, microwave and appliances, cruise control, and generator malfunctions are not considered breakdowns and no refunds are available for repair time to these items.

Parking/Traffic/Toll Violations

Customers are responsible for reporting and payment of all parking/traffic violations at rental termination. Non-reporting of parking/traffic violations breaches the Rental Contract and may result in an administrative charge of up to $250 in addition to fines.

Optional Use Generator

Most motor homes are equipped with generators. A generator is not necessary for normal vehicle operation. If a customer chooses to use the generator, extra charges will accrue at $5 per hour as determined by an installed running time meter. Each rental is allowed 3 hours of use per day at no charge.

Orientation Tour

Familiarization tour (approximately 30 minutes to 60 minutes) is required to acquaint the customer and drivers with the operation of the vehicle before departure. This tour is only given during office hours. You may schedule this tour before the rental date subject to availability of motor home or similar model.

Driver Requirements

Qualified drivers are 25 years of age or older possessing a valid and identifiable driver’s license. Each driver must provide an insurance binder for operation of the motor home.
